No problem, Steve....here you go. Just replace the name of the dog with your dog's name at the end of the link. You can put a space between the words in the name as your computer will automatically put in the %20:

http://www.trackinfo...=Leading%20Edge

We will be there for sure in the Fall. Will be great to meet you. Sounds like you are feeling much better. We were worried about you!!

Hey Wendy,

I see "Trackinfo" saw our posting of lines and we can no longer view them. They must of changed their code. Too bad. If they don't want historicial data released, then say so. The data is only good to a hand full of us who own dogs. Not like we are stealing something and then making a profit on a product owned by others. The tracks needs the info, not us. We are harmless.

If they don't want us to post it or print it, then charge those who would like to see lines on their dogs. Establish a yearly fee, then we can't "Bitch" about it. Looks like another "Rosnet" issue. I know the site is free and they can do what they like, but at least let us enjoy the lines etc etc as a greyhound owner.

Oh well, enough said. I know "Trackinfo" monitors this site and they have stated they would like to help us on website issues we talked about. This must not be one of the things they are willing to help us with.

Steve,

I spoke with people from Rosnet.
They told me that the tracks are holding back info from them.
Everything in the greyhound business seems to be secret.

I think it's really sad. They are just making it harder for the public to access this data and enjoy the business while it still survives.

When Rosnet went to the flash format, I really was upset as we weren't able to share the data with each other like we used to. At that time, Trackinfo, was pretty much a .txt open format and was open to all.

Now that they have taken over some of the track software contracts that Rosnet had, it looks like they've taken on Rosnet's role of locking down all this data.

Won't be much good when there isn't a sport anymore!

As a side note, Trackinfo also contacted us at Global asking for us to put "credits" on the twitter/blog feeds that we subscribe to. (If you go to the Twitter/Blog/News section, these updates are fed into the site automatically). I already had "TRACKINFO" in the subject heading, but they wanted more than that. I rectified the problem and wrote them back in a friendly manner.

Never heard a thing from them....

Hi Dr Grey,

I raced my first greyhound at Plainfield with the Ray Barber Kennel in the 70's when Frank Scott was the trainer for Ray. Ray left the greyhound racing business and started this data gathering (ie Owner of Rosnet) with the tracks using a program he had written which allowed the racing secretary's at these tracks to better manage the programs for racing and store the info for future references. Ray was the pioneer early on with this data collection. Ray's problem was people taking his information for profit and he had to lock it down. I know Ray and his family and he is a humble person who was just looking to make a living with something he had developed in the 80's and that original program was bought in by a lot of tracks. Then when crunch time came for the tracks, they look at ways to save money and "Rosnet" was one of the issues and these tracks took it on themselves and other data companies were hired. So now the racetracks are holding back information to the data companies based on what you are telling me that "Rosnet" stated to you.

What really bothers me is this: We supply the animals for the tracks to make money and yet we can't get the information on our animals. With out us there is no data. Greed in todays world is at the highest I have ever seen it in this business. I could give numerous examples, but what has happened at Lincoln, Raynham and Wonderland is all about greed. It was the vote that shut us down, but we didn't fight it and neither did the racetracks. (ie Greed for the slots without us who made them early on)

Enough rambling,

Steve

Thought I'd re-post these posts from the other topic as it didn't really pertain to the "bragging" of one's dogs.

Hey, guess what? I think it was all a misunderstanding as I found a link that does work. I am going to assume that the link we were using before was for the "beta" version of their site. Now that the new site is "live" the link changed. I think the timing was a coincidence with you posting, Steve. I don't think they intentionally changed it to piss us off.

Go to this link and type in the name of your dog at the end:
